ABOUT ME
Experienced Counsellor
I am a Counsellor experienced in working with adults, children and young people. I am an Accredited Member of the BACP ( MBACP Accred) -British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I hold a degree in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling. More recently, I completed a Level 4 Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People and a Certificate in Counselling Couples.
I am passionate about working with people of all ages. I have counselled adults across a variety of settings, from working for a charity counselling adults via the telephone, to working as a Counsellor within a GP surgery. Currently, I am working in private practice from my home and I also work as a Therapist in a Residential Children's Home. .
My experience with children and young people has come from many forms; I have years of experience working as a School Counsellor within Primary and Secondary schools and I currently counsel part time at a local Primary and Secondary school. I also have vast experience working as a Primary School Teacher; with many years spent teaching both Nursery/Infant and Junior-aged children. This experience has given me an expertise in the developmental needs of children and also ways of working with children from a play-based perspective. Over the years I have also supported families through a variety of roles; as a Special Needs Teacher supporting infants/young children and their families, and also as a Family Support Worker.
