FAQS
Your Questions Answered
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
Sessions are charged at £55 per 60 minutes for adults and young people or £45 for 45 minutes for children (aged 16 and under). For Couples Counselling I charge £70 per 60 minute session. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or by bank deposit.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
As individuals are all different, with different concerns and needs, therefore it is also difficult to say how long counselling will take before you feel you have reached your desired outcome. We can discuss this further during our initial meeting.
WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY?
My availability changes often, when you contact me we can discuss a time best to meet. I endeavour to be flexible with times and offer some evening sessions.
WHERE WILL WE WORK TOGETHER?
I counsel from my home, in a purpose built cabin in my garden. Free parking is available.
DOES COUNSELLING HAVE TO BE FACE TO FACE?
While face-to-face is the traditional mode of counselling, I understand that for some this is not practical or preferential. Therefore I offer counselling via video calling or telephone counselling. Please ask me if you feel this would be suitable for you.
I'M INTERESTED, WHAT'S NEXT?
You need to feel confident that you can trust me to help you, so I offer a free 15-minute chat on the phone to potential new clients so you can ask me any questions and ensure you’re comfortable.
You can call me on 0795 8263829 or send me a text, if that is easier, and I will call you back.
IS WHAT WE TALK ABOUT CONFIDENTIAL?
What we dicuss and the content of our sessions is strictly confidential, as per the ethical requirements of the BACP. However, if I believe there was a serious risk of harm to you or another, then this would be a circumstance where I may need to break confidentality and to speak to other parties in order to obtain further support. Whenever possible this would be done with your knowledge. I receive monthly supervision where I may discuss the content of our sessions, however individually identifying information is not provided and is subject to the same confidential boundaries.
CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT MY CHILD HAS SAID TO YOU?
Your child is free to discuss our sessions as they wish. However, as soon as I begin to counsel a child or a young person they become my 'client' and confidentiality is extended to them. This includes what has been said and the content of any play session. Of course, we are free to discuss your concerns and I like to check in with you every 6-8 weeks to discuss any changes in your child's behaviour so I can ensure the best level of support for your child.
